Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about PiTax and Nigerian tax compliance.
General Questions
What is PiTax?
PiTax is a specialized bookkeeping and tax compliance platform designed specifically for the Nigerian market. It helps individuals and businesses manage their records in alignment with the 2026 tax reforms.
Is PiTax compliant with the 2026 tax reforms?
Yes! PiTax is built from the ground up to reflect the latest changes in Nigerian tax laws, including progressive PIT bands, CIT turnover thresholds (₦100M), and VAT tracking.
Tax & Bookkeeping
How does the ₦100M turnover threshold affect me?
Under the new reforms, companies with an annual turnover of less than ₦100 million may be eligible for different CIT rates or exemptions. PiTax automatically monitors your turnover and alerts you of your tax obligations.
What expenses are tax-deductible in Nigeria?
Generally, expenses incurred "wholly, exclusively, necessarily, and reasonably" for the production of income are deductible. This includes staff salaries, rent for office space, and business-related travel. PiTax helps you categorize these automatically.
Can I use PiTax for VAT filing?
PiTax tracks your VAT-inclusive sales and purchases, generating summary reports that make it easy to file your monthly VAT returns with the FIRS.
AI Tax Educator
How accurate is the AI Tax Educator?
Our AI is trained on official Nigerian tax documents and the 2026 reforms. While highly accurate for educational purposes, it should not replace the advice of a certified tax professional for complex legal matters.
Is my financial data shared with the AI?
No. The AI Tax Educator provides general guidance. It does not have access to your private transaction history unless you explicitly type details into the chat for a specific calculation.

How secure is my data on PiTax?
We use bank-grade encryption, secure session management, and CSRF protection. Your data is stored in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
